74VHCT540AFT(BJ) is a CMOS digital silicon monolithic IC. It is an advanced high speed CMOS octal bus buffer (inverted, 3 state output) fabricated with silicon gate C²MOS technology. It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent bipolar schottky TTL while maintaining the CMOS low power dissipation. It is an inverting type. When either active-low G1 or active-low G2 are high, the terminal outputs are in the high-impedance state. The input voltage is compatible with TTL output voltage. This device may be used as a level converter for interfacing 3.3V to 5V system. Input protection and output circuit ensure that 0 to 5.5V can be applied to the input and output pins without regard to the supply voltage. This structure prevents device destruction due to mismatched supply and input/output voltages such as battery back-up, hot board insertion, etc. It is pin and function compatible with the 74 series (ACT/HCT/AHCT etc.) 540/541 type.

- Quiescent supply current is 4µA max at (VIN = VCC or GND, 5.5V, Ta = 25°C)
- Quiet output maximum dynamic VOL is 1.5V max at (CL = 50pF, Ta = 25°C, input: tr = tf = 3ns)
- Propagation delay time is 5.4ns typ at (5.0 ±0.5V, CL = 15pF, Ta = 25°C, input tr = tf = 3ns)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
