Product Overview
The MAX3488CPA+ is a 3.3V powered, slew rate limited true RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin DIP package. The slew rate limited drivers minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables allowing error free data transmission at data rates up to 250Kbps. The driver is short circuit current limited and protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver output into a high impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that gives a logic high output if both inputs are open circuit. Typical applications include low power RS485/RS422 transceivers, telecommunications, transceivers for EMI sensitive applications, industrial control local area networks.
