TCS34083M is an ALS/Colour sensor with selective flicker detection. It features ambient light and colour (RGB) sensing, as well as flicker detection which suppresses cross-coupling from 940nm IR if generated by adjacent circuits (e.g. TOF). Ambient light and colour sensing function provides five concurrent ambient light sensing channels: Red, Green, Blue, Clear, and Wideband. RGB and clear channels have UV/IR blocking filter. This architecture accurately measures ambient light and enables calculation of illuminance, chromaticity, and colour temperature to manage display appearance. Device integrates direct detection of 50 or 60Hz ambient light flicker. Flicker detection is executed in parallel with ambient light and colour sensing and has an independent gain configuration. It integrates multiple applications within one device. Applications for TCS3408 include brightness management for displays, colour management for displays, camera image processing, and flicker-immune camera operation.
