MAX4986ETO+

The MAX4986ETO+ is a SAS/SATA single lane 2:1/1:2 multiplexer/demultiplexer plus redriver with equalization in 42 pin TQFN package. This active 2:1/1:2 multiplexer/demultiplexer equalizes and redrives SAS/SATA or SATA only signals up to 6Gbps and operates from single 3.3V supply. The MAX4986 has independent input equalization and output preemphasis. It enhances signal integrity at receiver by equalizing the signal at input and establishing preemphasis at output of the device. The SAS/SATA and SATA only out of band (OOB) signalling is supported using high speed amplitude detection on inputs and squelch on corresponding outputs. Inputs and outputs are internally 50 ohm terminated and must be AC coupled to SAS/SATA controller IC and SAS/SATA device. It has -10dB differential input return loss, -6dB common mode input return loss, -10dB differential output return loss and -6dB common mode output return loss at 0.1GHz <lt/> f ≤ 0.3GHz.

• Deterministic jitter of 20psP-P and random jitter of 1psRMS
• Supports SAS/SATA OOB level signalling and programmable SAS/SATA threshold
