Product Overview

The 42540 from Extech Instruments is a high temperature IR thermometer. This 16:1 infrared thermometer with laser pointer measures surface temperature up to 1400°F (760°C) with a built-in laser pointer that identifies target area and improves aim. High 16 to 1 distance to target ratio measures smaller surface areas at greater distances. MAX/MIN/AVG/DIF features display highest, lowest, average and MAX minus MIN values. The built-in laser pointer identifies target area and improves aim. Adjustable high/low alarm alerts user visually and audibly when temperature exceeds programmed limits. The basic accuracy is ±2%rdg or 4°F (2°C) <932°F (500°C), ±(2.5%rdg + 5°)>932°F (500°C) and maximum resolution is 0.1°F/°C. It is capable of non-contact IR temperature measurements at touch of a button.
